The Z408 cryptogram is a 408-symbol cipher mailed by the Zodiac Killer on July 31, 1969, divided into thirds and sent to the San Francisco Chronicle, the San Francisco Examiner, and the Vallejo Times-Herald, each accompanied by a letter beginning “I am the killer of the 2 teenagers last Christmass…” It was decrypted in 1969, one of two solved Zodiac ciphers.
