Francesco Amicone is an Italian journalist who, beginning in 2017, conducted an investigation implicating Giuseppe Bevilacqua as a suspect in both the Zodiac and Monster of Florence cases. Amicone said that, in meetings and phone calls starting in May 2017, Bevilacqua implied responsibility for both cases and at one point agreed to turn himself in before reversing course. His inquiry was published in several Italian newspapers and continued on his blog. He stated that a DNA profile was forwarded to U.S. authorities investigating the Zodiac in November 2023.
