“Goldcatcher” (also known as Blaine Blaine) was a former co-worker of suspect Richard Gaikowski who, in the 1980s, wrote lengthy letters to law enforcement accusing Gaikowski of being the Zodiac. In a 2009 episode of the History Channel series MysteryQuest, Goldcatcher appeared in disguise alongside Tom Voigt and provided recordings of Gaikowski’s voice, one of which Vallejo dispatcher Nancy Slover reportedly identified as matching the Zodiac’s. The History Channel described Goldcatcher as a “conspiracy theorist with low credibility,” and a San Francisco police dispatcher called him “one of the top three Zodiac kooks.”
